Why does my spa trip the main breaker when I try to start jets? Also, blower and light doesn't work.?
My spa turns on, heats and circulation pump works, but when I try to turn on the jets, I hear a few clicks then the breaker trips on the main panel. Also, the blower and light doesn't work at all. I checked and replaced both fuses and still the same problem. What can I do?
It is either overloaded, and causing a trip, or more than likely it has a short somewhere. The jet pump could be bad itself. I don't know your level of expertise with mechanical stuff, but you need to test it first do a load test on it, then do a test on the pump motor and see if it is bad. If you don't know what I am talking about then try this. The pump motor should be on a plug. If it is unplug it and try plugging it in somewhere else on a separate circuit and see if it trips then. If not run the heat and circulation pump and then plug the jet pump up where you had it with the drop cord. if it holds chances are you need another circuit under the spa.
