I'm having problems with my pool.. I have a few questions?
We have an AquaRite Electronic Chlorine Generator. This year we cannot get the chemicals balanced to turn it on. I know the Cyanauric Acid has to be at 80 ppm to keep chlorine in the pool. Right now the water is cloudy, barely any chlorine, alkalinity is 150 ppm, ph is about 7.0, cyanauric acid is about 60 ppm. We were told to add 8 oz of ph minus and double shock it twice a day. So far nothing.... Our pool is 20 x 40 with 3 1/2 shallow end, 8 1/2 deep end.
Please help! What should I do?
Now my experience with LARGE pools (like high school pools). Once the water gets cloudy. That means the filters were dirty & the pool needs to be back washed. Once you've back washed the pool then it needs to be vacuumed (to get any particles that came off the filters). Then you may need one more back wash. Re-check the chemical levels between. Cloudiness is not going to go way within mins. it takes a while. It took us 2-3 days once.
-Trial & error, taking the water to a store is a good start.
